Congratulations !!!

Congratulations !!! Childrens Rights Agenda is registered as a Member Organization of the Young General Assembly.

Below you will find a full copy of the Young General Assembly Charter which was voted into force on July 24, 2000. This document determines your relationship with the Young General Assembly so please have your organization study it and see how it works for your situation. If you propose changes, please write them out in English and forward them to the Secretariat.

You will be notified in November 2004 that an annual report is due in English. There will be a form to follow to make reporting easier. You will not be required to send in a form for 2003.

The Fifth Young General Assembly Annual Session will be held July 31-August 14, 2004 in Abuja, Nigeria. You will receive E mail bulletins about global events and issues pertaining to young people. It is your responsibility to see that your members get this information also. It is strongly suggested that you appoint a Communications Officer who will report about your organizational activities so other Young General Assembly Member Organizations can learn from your endeavors and pass on incoming bulletins of importance to your focus. Looking forward to a long and productive relationship !!!!! In peace, Ellen

Problems with HIV/AIDS IN AFRICA.

Not Only with the presidents!
When the Secretary General Kofi Annan talked on VOA recently about some african
presidents not Supporting the Campaign against HIV/AIDS.
I began to wonder, is it only the president? if we try to look at it very
careful you would agree with me that,we ourselves especially youths and
young professionals, even our religions brothers and sisters in Africa do not
Support this campaign.
It you really read my words Carefully you will agree with me but if you don't you
will ask me why?
The reason for this is that, during my own study during this year world AIDS DAY
Which I Celebrated with friends and after a Campaign walk and talk. I met Couple,
of young students or youth who are between the age of 16-20 years, mostly if you
ask them about sex boy-friend, girl-friend relationship etc. They will deny and
proof their Innocence and this makes it more difficult to talk about HIV/AIDS
and its spread and any body within this age, you will agree with me that this is
the age where both sexes are inquisitive and to know more about sex and this
range that most people get in contact with the dreadful disease. Christian
Brothers and Sisters are not left out because they don't want to talk about sex,
even hear about but some of them blackslide and they do have sex with or without
each other and HIV/AIDS is still passed on.
If you will agree with me, it is not only the presidents of Africa, that are
having this problem but we the youths and young people in Africa.
I could also point accusing fingers to our parents too, and avoid taking about
sex to their children to avoid them corrupt minded, which i think is better than
getting infected or passing the disease around other youths.
You are free to make comments, addictions & subtractions on these issues by
replying with a mail.
